Pink Shirt Day #pinkwhatyoulove

The focus of 2018 Pink Shirt day is putting a pink spotlight on cyberbullying. In our industry – insurance – we are seeing the increase in digital cybersecurity and how it affects people and companies negatively. So much so, that the industry has responded to create cyber security insurance coverage. But insurance can only cover tangible losses. Cyber-attacks or bullying can and do have emotional impacts that can change the course of a person’s life.

Eliminate Cyberbullying

You or someone you love may have experienced online bullying, harassment, rumours or the sharing of private information. On Pink Shirt Day we encourage everyone to #PinkWhatYouLove because “Nice Needs No Filter”.

Today and every day take time to support anti-bullying programs that teach empathy, compassion, and kindness. Today, Feb 28, 2018 and throughout the month if you spread some niceness via #PinkItForward, Coast Capital is donating $1 to Pink Shirt day for every hashtag share; to support bullying prevention programs for youth.

Reminder to help keep “Nice Needs No Filter” going forward

  • Good listening skills
  • Tolerance for others – no matter how they act, look or pray
  • Come from a centre of empathy
  • Model respectful behaviors
  • Create love and leave out violence
  • Foster positive online communication, leave the negative in math class
