The Bridges To Community Canada Story
Bridges to Community Canada (BTCC) was founded in 2006 by a group of Canadian insurance professionals. The mission was to build bridges between the developed world and the developing world. Choosing Nicaragua, the second poorest country in the hemisphere. A plan was developed to raise $750,000 and build 100 houses in and around the Masaya region. The hundredth home was completed in January of 2012.
BTCC completed Vision #2 (2013-2017) to raise $1,000,000 and in partnership with the district of Jinotega in northern Nicaragua, build another 100 houses, 80 latrines, two schools, and several water distribution systems in the communities of El Sasle and El Mojon. Recently, the charity clarified a new vision with the commitment to raise
$1,500,000.00 to support the construction of 100 homes and biodigesters and to launch an exciting new Economic Development Program – this is an exciting new direction and initiative.
